The MPhil-PhD in Biomedical Sciences Programmis is offered by the Division of Biomedical Sciences of The Chinese University of Hong Kong which is ranked 36th in the QS World University Ranking in 2025 and 10th in the Asian University Ranking 2024.

The School of Biomedical Sciences was officially launched in 2010 under the Faculty of Medicine by merging four pre-clinical departments. Being the first of its kind in Hong Kong, the School has established three Thematic Research Programmes, namely:
Cancer Biology and Experimental Therapeutics
Developmental and Regenerative Biology
Neural, Vascular and Metabolic Biology
Our MPhil-PhD Programme in Biomedical Sciences is dedicated to cultivating research postgraduate students for prominent roles across academia and industry, including the world-renowned research leader, university professors and principal investigators in research institutes, senior managerial investigators and personnel in enterprises, and leading experts in biomedical sciences professions.
To successful applicants, monthly non-taxable postgraduate studentships and on-campus accommodation will be offered along with the provision of a variety of scholarships, prizes and awards. Besides, top students with outstanding academic performance and research potential are encouraged to apply to the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) which provides higher monthly studentships. The application for the MPhil-PhD Programme in Biomedical Sciences is open funtil 1 December 2025 for 2025-26 intake. This programme will provide another study option to your master students.
